THE CITY: God’s story of redemption and love for the world is one that comes into sharp focus in the cities of the world. Nearly 20% of the world population lives in the 30 largest cities of the world. Beyond those cities, there has been a growth of the cities of the world towards the level of 75% of the World’s population living in cities by 2050. The city is a place of culture and culture makers, a bounty of resources but also a great deal of need. It is the diversity and complexity of the network that is the reality of a global city that makes it both a critical and difficult place for a church to find its legs.

The Prague Metro Area has a population of 1.5 million people and is an 1100+ year old city on the banks of the Vltava River at the geographic heart of Europe. Prague is considered a global city as an important point in the global economic system based on its economic, political, cultural, and infrastructure characteristics.

There is a critical need for the Church to take up its role in the City. Paul ministered in the cities and the places where decision makers and culture were happening, yet evangelical Christians are the least urban religious group and have the least impact culturally. Revelation 21 gives us a view of God’s redemptive plan brought to fullness in a City, the New Jerusalem. The people dwelling in darkness have seen a great light, and for those dwelling in the region and shadow of death, on them a light has dawned.

First and foremost, the work is about joining in what God is doing and joining with His people to see lives transformed by the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Whenever possible, we want to join with local churches and Christians to see a growth of leaders and churches that are indiginous, or native to the culture. The ministries listed below are just a few of the ways that the ReachGlobal Prague City Team is partnering with Czech churches and ministries to see lives changed, churches growing, leaders developed, new churches planted, and ultimately, God glorified!

Opportunities to be involved short-term & long-term

Short-term teams play a valuable role in opening doors and giving the long-term workers in the Czech Republic an opportunity to meet people and share about Christ with them.

The ReachGlobal staff in the Czech Republic is involved in a variety of ministries with immediate concrete needs to fill—needs for short-term workers to do a variety of tasks that can have long-term impact for the Kingdom. Teaching, organizing events for all ages, performing, playing, cooking, loving… whatever your skills, whatever your interests, there is a place for you, your family, or your team in the Czech Republic.

On this page are a few of those opportunities. Read the descriptions and picture yourself here...giving a week to eternally change lives. What a sight! Would you prayerfully consider how you and your church can partner to fill one of these spots? Will you bring your gifts, talents, and love to the Czech Republic? We look forward to it!
